Welcome to the 'Ichthyology Journal Club' forum. This forum is intended for anyone who wants to go beyond the aquarium as a hobby and is interested in knowing more about the science of ichthyology (the study of fishes), particularly systematic ichthyology, which deals with the classification and relationships of fishes.
From time to time, I will post a series of threads of the following nature:
1. Definitions: these will be put up as stickies and help you to understand terms that one may encounter in the scientific literature.
2. Descriptions of new species: these are regular threads meant to update you on new species being described in current literature. To avoid flooding the forum with posts, I will try to include only freshwater species that may be of interest to aquarists (I will start with species described from 2004).
3. Any other scientific paper on fishes that may be interest to aquarists.
