Sintered Glass vs Ceramic Rings / Bio Balls

Does anyone know whether if Sintered Glass is a better filteration medium compared to the others?

I've heard that bioballs are used mainly in systems that employ wet/dry flitration. Thus, I'd rate bioballs as the least efficient of the three.

Sintered glass... it should be the best for biological flitration, since it has even more surface area than ceramic rings.
