WHat filters are u all using??

I believe all of you know that cichlids are waste producing machines so a gd filters and regular changes of water are essential. I am currently using a main overflow system and 2 2028 for my 5 ft and one 2222 for my dwarf cichlids. So what type of filtration you all use to ensure clean water for your beloved fishes? :)

4ftx1.5x1.5ft setup.

Filtration powered by Eheim Pro 2 2026 canister filter and UGF system powered by 2 TOM powerheads.

Use Ehfisubtrat and Biohome in my canister for biological filtration , normal Eheim mesh wool and small ceramic rings for mechnical.

8) Hi guys,
Mine is a 5X2X2 setup with the following setup.

a) 2 cannister filter - Atman 3338 N Ehiem 2028
b) Ext overflow with Ehiem 1060 for return in a 30"X18"X18" sump which houses 3 layers of plastic gauss, 300 bioballs, 10kg of coarse N smaller coral.
c) 1 Powerhead N a smaller Ehiem sub-pump for water circulation
d) 2.4m of air tubing with 2 double outlet air pumps.
e) 1 4ft of normal fluo light (those use for house)

Hi. Me in American cichlids.
My tank: 3 feet , width 16 inch.
Filtration: Regent overhead filter and Ehiem 2222. Still not enough... :P

I got red devils, jaguars, mayan, quetzals, tememsis, rainbow, red terror, jack demspeys, chocolate, lyonsi and one LH. Not all are in my 3 ft cos some are juveniles so need to grow them out first... :D

Sorry, I got no camera so no pics...

Basically both sides of the tank piled with gravel and some driftwoods in the center. The 'rocks' are actually brick-like rocks to prevent the gravel piles from being levelled... Background is a pic of a rocky landscape.

Wow that is quite a lot of fishes and i think it would be a matter of time u may need to get another tank as they can grow to a very big size. :)

I too like raising fishes but would be sad to part them when they grow bigger. I cant bear to release them into the pond as i dun think they may survive there. :(
