:eeks:
sigh.... got back yesterday and noticed some white growth things from the anal area of my female multi.... i think after reading up that it is malawi bloat...
any advice from you guys? i read some articles, where to get drugs like "Clout" and "Mela-.. something"? (not melafix!)
dunno if it is too late since there are external signs of the disease.
Could you try to get a picture of it ?

That's quite difficult to cure. What have you fed them?
Try Sera baktopur direct but no guarantee since fish is already at this stage.
My 2 cents:
It could be your fish has parasites/worms.
This is usually characterized by a reddish protruding anus.
Difficult to treat, but can try dewormer and/or anti-internal parasite medications.

fed them with cichlid flake (PET DAJANA, bought at serangoon151 area)
i would feed about a 5 cent piece of flake crumbled, once a day. sometimes i would toss in a few shakes of FD bloodworms as a treat. tank inhabitants are
4 multies,
2 SAE's
3 white clouds.
is the feeding too much? or any recommendations?

I saw the growth on sunday night.
only got round to getting and treating with some medicine (BeFuran) on tuesday night.
Wed morning, the fish seems quite sluggish. lying around on the bottom of the tank. breathing seems to be slightly laboured...
sigh.. see how it is after work tonight... :(

update
fish has KO'ed 10 minutes after the previous post... sigh....
Sorry to hear that bro, like mentioned, hard to cure when it has reached that stage.
Try to treat the tank in case its contagious.

Just to add on to Art's comments. I would suggest to replace 50% of the water, add some Baktopur direct. Rinse the filter medium.
