Hello~
I'm using a Eheim 2213 canister filter. Its the classics version. Safe u all cracking ur brains wat model it is. Haha~ :) It does not haf the priming thingy in it.
Recently washed the media inside. When switching back on again, there are jets of bubbles seen being blown out from the outlet. Why ah?
I do my so called "priming" by juz simply letting water go inside the canister and when the canister is filled i switched it on.
Is this the correct way?

must let your hose fill up wif water oso...the air bubbles may b oso due to some air trapped in the media...jus tilt the filter a bit to let them out...:)

For me, i use a powerhead to push the water into the canister to ensure that it is filled wit water b4 power on the filter. :)

Then u have to make sure that the hose and canister are filled with water. One way which i use long ago before getting the powerhead is to use your mouth and suck the water fr the outlet .. a bit disgusting though  . But i still suggest powerhead as it can easily cost less than $15 but it is definitely prove its worth. :)

no power head then jus lower the inlet hose below the water level in the filter...let the water fill the hose...then cap it wif your thumb and put the hose into the tank below water level...then the water will automatically flow from the tank into your filter...:) easier if u haf double connectors...:)
