Jsut curious about something and hope u can help

U know anything about canister filter and how different is it from Overhead filters?

Seems like from public experience, a lot of people are using the former.

How does it work and what benefits does it have? Additional ones i mean?

I am currently using overhead and sponge but got zero experience with Canister?

Can advise?

This is what i think , maybe the rest can discuss also :)

Canister:
Pros:
Better filtration capacity typically
Faster flow rate that top filter powerheads
Easier maintanence
good for all kinds of tanks( top filters IMO only suitable for smaller tanks of 3ft or less -- depends on bioload too, assuming heavily stocked with cichlids )
Can be hidden from sight

Cons:
much more expensive

Not sure if i missed anything but this just coming off the top of my head right now ... will add on if i think of other points..
