SIMI - danionella-lilke fish from Philippines
Got a number of these transparent, elongated fish, about 2cm SL, looks like a Danionella. Native to the Philippines. Could it be a Neostethus although I could not see whether any of them have the male organs.
Bought from Manila, Cartimah market. |

Looks like N. villadolidi, according to Parenti (1989).

Are these fish related to the blue eyes, Pseudomugil, Kiunga etc?

Those Filippinos must be very soft handed. This genus are so hard to keep alive longer than a few hours. We have one species with a little bit of red on the tail right in BKK. I never manage to keep them for long.
